Several new documentaries were recently released about the 2004 election and the challenges of the upcoming election. As the 2008 elections loom large on the horizon, they remind us why the right to vote is one of the most important rights you can exercise.
Stealing America raises serious questions about voter
disenfrachisement, especially among low-income people and people of
color. New electronic voting machines make mass voter fraud more
possible than ever. If you're concerned about free and fair elections,
check it out.
Meanwhile, Election Day presents a panorama of ordinary citizens nationwide collectively
exercising the most fundamental right of democracy--the right to vote.
Watching them selfessly set aside the burdens of their daily lives to
participate in the democratic process is truly inspiring.
Journeys Through the Red, White, and Blue is a film by a group of youth in New York City, offering "three unique explorations into the voting process."
Also checkout Michael Moore's film, Slacker Uprising, which he has released for FREE to the public! Slacker Uprising is an attempt to motivate people of all political persuasions to vote. Awesome.
